Suffolk Music Education Hub is a partnership of key organisations. Across these organisations there is a wide variety of opportunities available for schools:

• City of London Sinfonia - education and outreach programmes that bring music and musicians into schools, nurseries and community settings.
  

• Charanga Online Learning - a modern, exciting digital resource to help teach the new primary music curriculum.

• Drake Music - leaders in music and disability, using innovative technologies and ideas to open up access to music for all.

• Norfolk and Norwich Festival Bridge - providing a direct link between those working with children and young people, schools and communities, with arts and cultural organisations.

• Orchestras Live - a national music charity bringing orchestral music to under-served areas throughout England.

• Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - community and education programmes that deliver orchestral outreach projects in a variety of settings.

• Snape Maltings: Learning & inclusion - an internationally renowned performance centre with the nurturing of talent at its heart.

• St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds - choirs for all ages: St Cecilia Chorale, The Colts, St Cecilia Juniors, Cathedral Choristers, and St Edmundsbury Singers.

A Celebration of Schools' Music

Founded in 1988, Celebration is the result of a long-standing partnership between Snape Maltings and Suffolk County Music Service. Suffolk schools are given the opportunity to participate in this well-established event. Hosted at the world-famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Celebration encourages children of all ages and stages to enjoy and participate in music.

Aldeburgh Festival

Snape Maltings and the Red House host workshops and other musical opportunities at Snape Maltings and The Red House. 2015 saw schools perform their BBC Ten Pieces creative responses, and a massed workshop with composer Anna Meredith at Snape Maltings Concert Hall. A Celebration of Schools' Music

The result of a long-standing partnership between Snape Maltings and Suffolk County Council. All Suffolk schools are invited to attend and participate in this event, held at Snape Maltings Concert Hall. Find out more on the Celebration page.

Friday Afternoons Big Sing

An annual event that takes place at Snape Maltings Concert Hall, where Suffolk schools sing selected Friday Afternoons songs. You can download and listen to the collection of songs for free on the Friday Afternoons website. 

Music For Youth: Regional and National Festivals

Regional Festivals offer the chance for young musicians to perform their music and gain valuable feedback from professional music mentors. The National Festival takes place at world class stages and city-centre locations. Schools can apply to take part on the Music For Youth website.

Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts

Musicians can perform alongside dancers and actors in a friendly, supportive environment. Many entry classes are for school ensembles, individuals, and groups. You can find out more information on their website.

WCET Celebration

A week-long series of events where pupils celebrate their achievements in KS2 Whole Class Ensemble Teaching. County-wide workshops and rehearsals, including a massed performance where all pupils play together. Each event finishes with a concert to family and friends.

Group A

An un-auditioned vocal group for 8-18 year olds that works with professional musicians and takes part in exciting performances throughout the year. You can find out more on the Snape Maltings website.

Suffolk Youth Music activities

A progressive range of music making activities from Key Stage 2 beginner standard up to advanced county level. Includes: beginner ensembles, vocal groups, wind bands, jazz orchestras, guitar ensembles and youth orchestras. You can find out more on the County Music Schools page.
