Suffolk Youth Music: the 'ensemble' experience

Activities in this programme are un-auditioned and provide many opportunities for children and young people to play and sing in ensembles.

Taking place across Suffolk each week during term-time, we offer activities for ages 7-18 from beginner to advanced levels. We also offer instrumental lessons after school and on Saturday mornings. New members are welcome to join at any time.

County Ensembles: advanced programmes for young musicians

This bespoke programme is for Suffolk’s finest young musicians. Applications open in the summer term with auditions taking place in September.

Our County Ensembles offer exciting performance opportunities throughout the year. Highlights of the season include the European concert tours for Suffolk Youth Orchestra and Suffolk Youth Wind Orchestra, as well as the joint Gala Concert with Suffolk Young Strings at Snape Maltings Concert Hall.

For schools

We offer a range of music programmes for all Suffolk schools, including: instrumental, vocal, and class teaching from Early Years to Key Stage 5; graded exams; instrument loan service; ensembles; singing strategy; and world music.
