Music Service update on COVID-19

Posted by Suffolk County Music Service on 5 March 2020 | Comments

Dear Parent,

As you are doubtless aware from widespread media coverage (and almost hourly updates), there is heightened awareness surrounding the Covid19 virus.

Throughout this, the service has been closely following Suffolk County Council and Government guidance for educational settings. As with schools, that advice is to continue to operate as usual, while encouraging raised awareness and adherence to health and hygiene matters (please see this document for more information).

In the meantime, all music centres and Suffolk Youth Music activities remain open as we prepare for our end of term concerts. We also continue to plan and look forward to the full programme of County Ensemble concerts, courses and tours. As with all musical activities, it is essential to have all personnel to make the ensemble work, so full attendance is expected at all rehearsals, events and concerts.

I would like to assure parents that we will continue to monitor the situation closely. Should anything change, we will update our position according to the latest guidance. In the interim, it is business (and wonderful music making) as usual.

With all best wishes,

David
